RUBEN M. PEÑA
As a native San Antonioian, Ruben M. Peña has played an integral role in the development of this city. Licensed since 1978, he has been actively involved in the local real estate market, serving both residential and commercial clients. The knowledge gained through his life experiences, both personal and professional, has been used to serve both his profession and his community.
A commitment to community service has always been a high priority. Mr. Peña has shared his expertise generously as a Licensed Texas Real Estate Instructor and as an advisor to many local government agencies and charitable organizations.
Mr. Peña has collaborated with several City Council members through his participation in the San Antonio Annual Affordable Housing Summit, both as a planning member and as a featured panelist, to assist in identifying affordable housing solutions.
MICHAEL E. REYNA, CCIM, CPM, CRE
Michael Reyna started his real estate career in 1981 as a real estate appraiser and consultant. Early on in his career, he specialized in complex appraisal assignments, financial audit reviews, and loan workouts for such clients as the Resolution Trust Corporation and the FDIC. In 1991, after serving as Executive Vice President for another appraisal firm, Mr. Reyna founded MRA Appraisal Company (formally known as Michael E. Reyna & Associates, Inc.), a full-service commercial and residential appraisal firm, which today has become one of San Antonio’s premier consulting firms. Mr. Reyna presently serves as Chairman of the Board for this company.
In 1986, Mr. Reyna obtained his real estate Broker’s license and began actively selling, managing, and developing residential real estate properties throughout the south Texas markets. In 1991, Mr. Reyna started TC Austin Properties. Named after his two sons, this real estate firm has grown every year, with sales reaching over 120 million a year. In 2008, TC Austin Realty Advisors was formed to focus on commercial real estate solutions and consulting services, including loan resolution plans, investment analysis, brokerage, asset management, and project consulting services.
In November of 2004, TC Austin Residential Group, LLC was formed with partner Ruben Peña to help serve the emerging needs of our residential clients. In 2005, TC Austin Residential Group, LLC was awarded the contract by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development as the broker for the disposition of HUD foreclosed properties. Over the last decade, TC Austin Residential Group, LLC has continued to be recognized by HUD and their Asset Managers for our outstanding promotion programs of HUD Homes, home buying seminars, and training programs for Realtors.
Mr. Reyna is a graduate of St. Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Real Estate Management and holds an Associate Degree in the same discipline. Mr. Reyna’s professional real estate designations include the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) awarded by the National Association of Realtors and the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation awarded by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). In addition, Mr. Reyna has been invited to become a member of The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE). CRE membership is extended by invitation only. To be considered for a CRE, real estate advisors must be recognized by their peers, clients, and employers. And the marketplace for the scope of their professional expertise, acknowledged leadership, impeccable judgment, and unwavering integrity.
Another designation Mr. Reyna holds is in the Appraisal Industry with an SRA (Senior Residential Appraiser) classification by the Appraisal Institute and other merit awards by governmental and institutional societies.
Mr. Reyna’s professional involvement includes the 2002 Chairman of the Board-San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR) and Director for the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR). He has served as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), Secretary/Treasurer on the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee, and Chairman of the Grievance Panel of the San Antonio Board of Realtors. Additionally, Mr. Reyna has served on the Membership Diversity as well as the Ethics and Standards Committee of the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Reyna has also served as the Zoning Commissioner for the City of Alamo Heights, Texas.
Mike is a native of San Antonio and resides in the city with his wife, Cindy, and their two sons, T.C. and Austin.
